Usually when I go out for pizza, I go for some variety of thin crust. A few favorites are Spacca Napoli, Coalfire and Craft Pizzeria. That said, sometimes it's good to get back to my deep dish roots. While Pizzeria Due is still my fave, Lou's never disappoints!
And I love their Lincoln Square/North Center location at the corner of Lincoln and Montrose. Not just because it's walking distance from my home but a great neighborhood spot with an awesome patio! And when the doors/windows are open, even the dining room get plenty of fresh air!
I have to say when the owner of Temperance Beer Co. asked me if I'd be interested in leading their brewery tours I was really excited! I mean how hard could it be? Learn a script like any other gig, drink beer and have fun. You know what, I was right haha!
Don't get me wrong, there is a lot to know regarding the history of Temperance and Evanston, IL as well as the physical the space. Not to mention the brewing process, packaging, barrels, canning and of course the varieties of beer! But I have to tell you it's great fun and I always finish my tours with comedy magic!
Sure I was nervous at first but with each tour it just becomes more fun. I mean the way I see it, for $10 our guests get 3 beers, a pint glass, 2 stickers, a tour of the brewery and a discount on merch! If I can teach them something and provide some laughs along the way, even better! Want to join me? For more information, click here.
It was pretty simple. She bought a kit, built the pizza, cooked the pizza and ate the pizza! While I'd love to teach more people how to make their own deep dish pizza (click here for pizza classes), for those who like to cook but not TOO MUCH, then by all means hit me up for a DIY pizza kit! See below for details...
Pizza Kits include:
"I could eat the sauce all by itself!" - The customer who sent me the above pics.

Just few photos from a friend's birthday celebration as well as a Friday FREE pizza pop-up at Begyle Brewing on the north side of Chicago! Begyle is a BYOF brewey and (dog friendly) taproom. A must visit if you're in from out of town. Of course you should let me know if you need some pizza!
It's not often kids like deep dish pizza. Especially those NOT from Chicago but for this little gal, it must be in her blood! And now her belly! On my last night visiting with friends in Boulder, I made pizza dinner. I mean, have pans will travel! Lily is the daughter of Kris (Coloradan) and Craig (Chicagoan) and clearly her pizza genes are Chicago dominant! There's hope for future generations of Deep Dish lovers after all!
Congrats to Amy, my photo contest winner! What you see below are a few of my favorite photos submitted from my last event on February 22nd. What an amazing night with amazing people! Serving up pizza and laugh never gets old! Oh and what did the photo contest winner actually win? She won a FREE BK Deep Dish pizza to be cooked and served in her home or at a local taproom!
Just a guy combining his gifts and talents to bring you a great dinner show experience!
